REGISTRATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

Patients Capacity Building Workshop & TIF General Assembly 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern participation in the Patients Capacity Building Workshop & TIF General Assembly 2026 (the “Event”), organised by the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF). By registering, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

 

1. Registration Agreement & Process

  • Registration is available exclusively online through the official event website.
  • Registrations are processed on a first‑come, first‑served basis and may close without prior notice.
  • Participants must receive official registration confirmation from the Secretariat before making travel arrangements.
  • On‑site registration is not permitted.

 

2. Payment Terms

  • Payment may be made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or bank transfer.
  • Registrations are confirmed only after full payment is received and processed.
  • Access to the Event will not be permitted without full payment.
  • All applicable taxes are included in the registration fee.
  • If bank transfer is selected but not executed on time, the registration may be cancelled and the participant may need to reapply under the prevailing fee category.

 

3. Accommodation Policy

TIF does not sell accommodation online.

  • Accommodation is available only upon request.
  • Each request will receive separate accommodation terms, including payment and cancellation conditions.
  • No accommodation fees are included in the Event registration fee.

 

4. Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Secretariat:

4.1 Standard Cancellations

  • Within 24 hours of registration: Free cancellation
  • Up to 90 days before the Event: Free cancellation
  • 89–30 days before the Event: 50% of registration fee charged
  • 29 days or fewer before the Event: 100% of registration fee charged
     

4.2 Visa Rejection Cancellations

Refunds apply only upon submission of official visa rejection documentation:

  • Up to 30 days before the Event: 100% refund
  • 29–15 days before the Event: 50% refund
  • 14 days or fewer: No refund
     

4.3 Substitutions

Participant substitutions are allowed up to 30 days before the Event.
 

4.4 Refund Timing

All refunds will be processed after the Event.

 

5. Event Changes & Force Majeure

TIF reserves the right to modify the Event’s dates, venue, programme, or format at any time.

In cases of force majeure (including but not limited to fire, flood, natural disaster, political instability, or other events beyond TIF’s control), TIF may reschedule, relocate, or cancel the Event without liability beyond refunding registration fees.

 

6. Insurance & Liability

  • Participants are strongly advised to obtain travel and health insurance.
  • TIF is not responsible for travel delays, health issues, accidents, or any costs incurred during travel or stay.
  • Participants are responsible for the safety of their personal belongings.
  • TIF is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
  • Participants indemnify TIF against any claims arising from their actions during the Event.

 

7. Personal Information & Privacy

By registering, participants consent to the collection and use of their personal data for Event administration.

  • Data may be shared with service providers, sponsors, and exhibitors.
  • Participants may opt out of third‑party communications via the registration form.
  • TIF may use participant emails to send Event updates and future announcements.
  • Participants may request data deletion or account deactivation by contacting the Secretariat.

 

8. Registration Credentials

  • Registration credentials are personal and non‑transferable.
  • Sharing access credentials is strictly prohibited and may result in cancellation without refund.

 

9. On‑Site Check‑In

Participants must check in at the registration desk and may be asked to present proof of payment.
