About the Event

The Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) is delighted to announce the organisation of the 1st TIF Pan American Conference on Thalassaemia & Other Haemoglobin Disorders and the 2nd RAIN Summit, taking place from 11 to 13 July 2025 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Washington D.C., USA.

This landmark event, organised by TIF in collaboration with the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation (CAF) and supported by the Members of TIF’s Pan American Network for Haemoglobin Disorders (PANHD – Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States of America), brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, caregivers and, most importantly, patient advocates, to drive meaningful discussions on the latest advancements in treatment, care and policy for haemoglobin disorders, while fostering collaboration and strengthening the patient voice across the Americas.

Two Parallel Programmes

  • Scientific Programme: Designed for healthcare professionals, focusing on multidisciplinary care, new treatment approaches, innovative therapies and emerging challenges in the field. Attendees engage with leading experts, participate in interactive sessions and gain insights into the latest research and clinical practices.
  • Patient and Parent Programme: Aims to empower, educate and connect patient communities across the Americas, providing valuable information on managing haemoglobin disorders, advocacy strategies and ways to improve healthcare access.

2nd RAIN Summit

Following the Conference, the 2nd RAIN (Rare Anaemias International Network) Summit convenes medical experts, advocacy groups and policymakers to focus on strategic initiatives for improving care, access and research for rare anaemias at both regional and global levels.

Objectives

  1. To master fundamentals of clinical management of haemoglobin disorders
  2. To enhance knowledge and awareness
  3. To foster collaboration and networking
  4. To address unmet patient needs
